WebbI honestly have better vapor and consistency without ribbon wire. Perhaps because I normally use 27 gauge versus the lowest gauge of ribbon being analogous to 28 gauge. Also, ribbon tends to mute flavor, for me at least, though I guess you get more vapor when compared to analogous gauges of round wire kanthal.
